My Story

Personal Statement: 

As a lifelong artist, I am a firm believer art has no rules. There is methodology to creating cohesive pieces, but art as a whole is the culmination of the artists lived experience and inspiration, and ultimately a perfect portrayal on how we see the world. My preferred medium is oil paint, as I find its flexible viscosity to be a tool to helping me create pieces that are tangible for the viewer.  I have experience in charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, oil pastel, and pastel as well, but I always find myself gravitating back to brush-based mediums. I am unafraid to become covered in paint, a drawer of my dresser is dedicated to painting clothes, and I find creation to be a non-linear and creative path. My creativity catapulted between 2021-2022 as I found myself bedridden due to a series of surgeries, and my other activities were stripped away. I have learned through experience, relying on the art around me to explore new styles and methods. I hope you enjoy my work!
